they could of used the same one they used in the diplomat [/ quote]
this is what we all thougt at first not .... but i guess we all realized, that the diplomatic stuff does work in the commo except the engine. The commo body is not designed for the Use of a sbc.

i think i speak for all of the people who drive in the v8 commo .... the conversion is bright but the driving makes it worth. : D [/ quote]

Thats what i dont understand though, why didnt they design the rekord and commo with the V8 its a bit wrong that a car of that size and style only came in 4 and 6 cylinder. Im using a tuned 1967 Rover V8 what V8 engines do you guys use? i dont know if you got rover V8's over there?

i thought about making a conversion from a rover 3,5l into a 64 rekord a. but never did it.
there is an manta a with a rover v8 somewhere in germany...

a friend of mine has built the duke a few years ago which i am owning now.
it has a 283 chevy sb with world product heads, weiand intake, crane ignition and a 600 cfm holley. the transmission is a manual 5-speed with a 10,5" centerforce clutch and limited slip rearend.

You germans really know your stuff about cars! i love this site! just a couple of questions ....

  * I've been looking at my brake master cylinder and it looks like it will be in the way of a V8 do i have to move anything?
  * Will my Opel 3-speed autobox marry up to the block? My V8 is a 1967 so it was made by buick rover started before casting their own.

i am not german i am dutch!!
do you have a manual gearbox or automatic?
i have an automatic and need no clutch,so i moved the mastercilinder to the left side were de clutch cable came out.
i dont think the opel box will fit the buick/rover engine.

Ohh, sorry i was just going with the site address "de" i thought that Dutch was "nl"

Looks like you have your handsful! Lol. what have you done to your wheels? you had them banded? they look wider than mine.

Yes i have automatic and i want to keep it is there a V8 block that would marry up to it? yes it is as opposed to clutch its a torque converter.

You're right, it's a german site but we are open for everyone :)
So now we have dutch, british and scandinavian people here. Maybe we change to .com someday :P
