Fuel gauge broken

Hi there, the fuel gauge on my rekord is showing full all the time and im not sure what it could be any ideas thanks. Rich.

could be three reasons:
a) The gauge is broken
b) the electric wire to the signal sender has a ground negativ contact
c) the sender in petrol tank is broken
Most of the time the sender in petrol tank or electric contacts
are the reason for disfunktion...

i had the problem that the contact inside the was stuck of rust. Remove it from the fuel tank and if so, grase it with WD-40. That is how i did it.

Cheers Guido, i took the fuel sender out lastnight and it seemed fine, i put the wire to it and and touched ir on the fuel tank but no matter where i had the arm it just says full, think i'll have another look at the weekend. Cheers, Rich.

Ahh, what do you mean by "B"? should the sender unit have a negative earth from the fuel tank? what is the wire that clips on to the front? is that positive or negative?
